Friday Night Fall Race Series

Come to the RYC Happy Hour to discuss details and timing of a proposed 3 or 4 race series. If you cannot attend, contact Bill Coxwell for more information.

• Staggered Start based on each boat's handicap.
• Starting Mark: A semi permeant mark (Orange Ball) in Aransas Bay, just out from The Yacht Club. Within view of The Yacht Clubs front Deck.
• Windward Mark: A fixed platform in the bay
• Finish: In Rockport Harbor with a finish line out from The Yacht Club Deck.
• Short races to keep the boats finishing during Happy Hour, as well as time to stop at the club for a drink and stories…!!!
• 3 Classes: Non-Spinnaker, Spinnaker, Multihulls
• Registration Fee: $30 per boat
• 100% registration fee to go to awards.
• Break even event, that will generate a fun sailing event to watch during Happy Hour

Each boat entered will be given (emailed or messaged by phone) a starting time, (This information will also be posted at The RYC for those interested.) This time is when each boat may pass between the orange buoy and The RYC Flagpole.

The Windward mark leave to starboard (a couple of fixed platforms in the bay to choose from depending on the wind predicted for that race night)

Boats then enter Rockport Harbor heading toward the finish line. A line out from The Yacht Clubs deck.

In theory the boats should finish about the same time with the handicaps taken into account at the start. Could make for some fun finishes. Race Committee will review each race and may adjust handicaps to bring the finishes close together (for RYC use only).
